I‘m Steven Mather Solicitor and Your Business Lawyer and this is Mather Podcast Be With You. I‘m keen to learn what makes people successful and indeed what success means. This podcast is a variety of things - sometimes an interview of business people, sometimes a discussion, sometimes a panel, sometimes just me talking. I‘m hopeful it will be interesting, witty, and worth another listen. Prior to April 2021, this podcast was known as The Business Herald - a six-month stint and my first foray into podcasting. I really enjoyed making it, but delivering a weekly business news podcast took too much time, so this new version is more me and hopefully slightly less time consuming.

In this week's Business Herald Podcast, we talk about the main UK Business News and Economy issues. We discuss:
- Arcadia administration, Debenhams Insolvency, and a raft of CVAs and ask "Is insolvency just a way to play the system, or can SMEs benefit too?"
- We claim a success on Business Rate Relief paid to supermarkets over lockdown, them mostly having agreed to repay £1.2 BILLION back to the government.
- We look at whether there could be tax cuts on the horizon, or whether we'll just see lots of stealth taxes anyway
- and the financial impact of "I'm a Celebrity" to the local economy
- and much more besides.
Your host as always is Steven Mather Solicitor, Lawyer for SMEs, Author and Podcaster. We're joined this week by Jamie Cochrane from PBC Business Recovery and Insolvency, and Tej Gawera of TaxAssist Accountants in Leicester.
The Business Herald is a weekly email newsletter containing all of the week's business news stories. You can subscribe to the mailing list at www.businessherald.co.uk
